Katelyn's First Chritmas

Katelyn had a lot of fun on Christmas. She helped everyone open presents. She got these cute little mochasins from Grandma and Grandpa that are soooooo comfy. This is Katelyn helping Daddy open a gift she got him.

She did get just a little bit greedy, tho. Here she is holding onto one of Grandpa's gifts. He tried to show it to her and she took it away and refused to let go of it. Apparently it was quite tasty.

Katelyn also had a lot of fun playing with everyone. She loved getting so much attention and hugs. Daddy was picking her way up into the air and bringing her baack down again. This made her crack up like you wouldn't believe.

There were a few quiet moments as well. She would just sit and watch us all chatting away. Every so often, she would interject her two cents worth about whatever was being discussed. These speeches went anywhere from ten seconds to ten minutes long. She has become quite the chatterbox at times.

Solid Foods :)

Katelyn had her first taste of (semi)solid food this week. She got to eat some rice cereal for the first time. It got all over, of course, but she enjoyed the experience immensely. She has had a few meals of it now, and each time she keeps a bit more in her mouth, and gets less all over herself. This first night had to be followed up with a bath, because there was just so much all over her little face and neck. :)

As soon as she saw us doing something in the kitchen with the colorful bowls, she did not stop watching us. She seemed to know something was happening and it was for her.

She did try to help a bit by grabbing onto the bowl a few times. She even held the spoon in her mouth for a few seconds and just chewed on it. By the look she gave it, it must have felt good on her gums. :)

Four Months Already!!

Katelyn is now four months old. It is very hard to believe there was ever a time she was not in our lives. She had her well-baby check up on Monday, and she has grown SO MUCH!!! She is now 26.75 inches tall, off the growth scale for her age. She now weighs 15 pounds. It is almost time to stop carrying her in her car seat. :) She is having a lot of fun at day care, playing with the other kids and getting a lot of attention.

Katelyn has started to move herself around on the floor by pushing with her feet. She can get herself completely off her play mat, then howls because she can't reach any of her toys. :) She also tends to push herself into the corner of her crib and gets upset when she can't get her head un-stuck.
