Katelyn's First Video

This video was taken on the first of July, but they just added to option of adding them to the site, so here it is for you all to see. This is Katelyn playing in the living room with our cat, Terry. Katelyn absolutely loves the cat and Terry loves the attention she gets from Katelyn. She puts up with a lot of pulling and pounding that our other cat flees from. ;)

Learning New Skills

Katelyn has been learning how to use utensils when eating. Her first forray was an extremely messy undertaking but she had a lot of fun trying to get the yogurt back off the tray and onto the spoon so she could eat it. Her fingers are still her preferred method, but she is starting to understand that the spoon and fork could be useful too.

She is also getting closer and closer to talking. She babbles on all the time now, sometimes for 10 minutes or more. She still sings along with the radio, sometimes, but more and more it seems like she is trying to tell us what she is thinking about things. She is immitating us more and more each day and has mastered clicking her tongue and smacking her lips. She tends to do the latter a lot when she is eating something she really likes.

Baby Steps

Saturday, September 1st, Katelyn took her first steps!!!!

There were 3 of them and she promptly sat down right after, but she did it without holding on to anyone or any thing. A few minutes later she took 4 more steps across the floor. Monday she got even braver and took a few more steps all on her own, this time with more deliberate intent and purpose. She will be running around the house before we know it. I will post pics as soon as I can.
