7 Month Update

Katelyn is getting so big. She is sitting up very well now, as long as we help her get into that position. She has yet to master getting into a sitting position on her own. She is also able to hold her bottle by herself when drinking it. Eating Cheerios is becoming easier each day. We love to just sit and watch her while she figures out the best position for each Cheerio in her hands befor she puts them into her mouth.

Katelyn is getting to be quite the little chatterbox. Rarely is there a moment when she is not singing or talking to us about this, that and the other thing. She loves the exersaucer and plays with it almost every day. She has become very skilled at pressing the buttons to play the music, which she loves. She also still enjoys her jumper, but is quickly approaching the point where she will be too big to use it. Music is still a must each day.

Katelyn has an extremely outgoing personality. She loves people and smiles at everyone she sees, especially kids. We took her to the duck pond last weekend and while she was checking out the birds in the water, she was much more interested in the bread we were feeding them. She loves sourdough bread, especially the crust.

6 Months and Counting

Katelyn is now 6 months old. She is up to 16 pounds 10 ounces and 27 1/2 inches tall. She got an exersaucer this past weekend and she absolutely loves it. She also still likes being in her jumper. Every time we stand her up in our laps she jumps. :) She still loves music and sings along when we play some, especially Disney, which drives Jeremy crazy.

It appears that Katlyn will have two different colored eyes. Her left is most definitely brown, like ours are, but her right eye is blue-green and doesn't seem to be changing any further. Her birthmark is responding very well to the steroid cream we put on daily. It is much less puffy than it was two months ago. She goes for a check up for that next Friday. We are also happy to report that the MRI/MRA came back normal. Oh, and there is a brain in there, in case you were all curious. :)

She is eating solid foods a lot more now. She has tried squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, and peas so far and really likes the squash and peas. We will be trying a couple fruits this weekend. We are confident that she will gobble those down as well. Her first tooth is now completely in and the second has started to break through as well. It has gotten fairly painful for us when she tries to chew on our fingers, now.

Fun Times

We got to have a second Chritmas a few days ago. Katelyn got this cute hat from Pepere in Maine. She wears it to day care every morning. :)

Katelyn had a lot of fun with the wrapping paper. She helped open each if the gifts, and only ate a couple pieces of paper.

She got this great dress from Josie at our office. This is her at daycare, just before Christmas. She was laughing up a storm at all the silly faces Jennifer and her son were making behind the camera.

First Tooth

Katelyn hit a huge milestone this evening. Her first tooth finally broke thru!! It is the bottom left tooth and she is not too happy about it. Her face has gotten very red in the past week from all the drooling. I guess now we know why. Will post pics as soon as we are able to get a good shot. :)

Five Month Update

Katelyn is now 5 months old. We cannot believe it has been that long. It seems like only yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. She has changed so much, too. The picture above was taken at precisely 10:43pm, the moment of her birth, only 5 months later. She has taken to cuddling the fox there, each night as she goes to sleep. It is adorable to see.

She is also sitting up more and more now. Here she is in here brand new seat. The tray for it is on the way. She can no longer use the bouncy seat for eating, as she can now lean totally forward and almost tip it over. She has been continuing her exploration of Rice Cereal. So far she still does not think it is a meal, but seems to enjoy 'playing' with it in her mouth. More and more seems to be staying in each day.

Her feet continue to be a constant facination for her. She chews on her toes each and every day. Even whil sitting in her new seat here, she goes after them.

She loves to sing along with music, as well. In the car we can hear her gurgling with the music and when we have it on at home, she is never quiet. She still LOVES her jumper and can get her feet completely off the ground when she bounces now.
