Thanksgiving 2007

We had a lot of fun on Thanksgiving this year. Katelyn loved exploring up on the mountain at Grandma and Grampa's house. She is very big on getting into and out of chairs right now, so each chair in each room had to be tested out multiple times during the day.

She didn't care much for the turkey, but the peas, cranberry sauce and potatoes were acceptable. What she absolutely LOVED was Dede's sweet potato casserole. She devoured all of what we put in front of her and was very upset when she ran out. As you can see here, it made a very nice facial mask as well.

After dinner, while we were preparing the desserts and whipping the cream, Katelyn discovered the mashed potato pot sitting on the floor. It had already been pre-washed but Sheena, and Katelyn decided that it was the perfect place to have a seat. She climbed in with both feet and sat down on the rim then gacve us all this great big smile. She climbed into and out of the pot many times and even tried to sit in it once, without her feet in first. She did not like being stuck like that.

15 Month Update

Katelyn has hit the 15 month mark and is doing great!! She is 33.5 inches tall now and weighs 22lbs 4 oz. She has begun to demand that she feed herself at every meal and is improving each day with actually getting most of the food into her mouth, even if that means discarding the utensils.

Katelyn also loves to go on walks. She is fascinated by everything she sees outside and loves to look at and touch as much as she can get her little hands on. She also does not like to be carried much anymore. She is becoming almost too independent. Eating dirt and rocks has become a game to see how much she can get in her mouth before we stop her. She takes her time at each stop along the way to investigate whatever has caught her eye. Some days she likes to bring souvenirs home with her, some days not.

Happy Halloween '07

Katelyn had fun on Halloween this year. She dressed up like Holly Hobbie and we went Trick-or-Treating at Jennifer's and around our neighborhood. She really enjoyed her fist candy bar (Kit Kat) and got mad at all the kids that came calling. They were, after all, taking her candy. ;)

At day care, she got to decorate a pumpkin and go see a costume parade at a local school. She had a very fun and exciting day and best of all, she slept very well afterward. :)
